Epic Opportunities is seeking candidates to fill our Accounting & Finance Manager role in our dynamic team.

The Accounting & Finance Manager is responsible to inform the Director team’s strategic financial planning and analysis; ensure that Epic Opportunities’ financial books are maintained in accordance with applicable legal and accounting standards; ensure financial functions are completed in an ethical and timely manner, with accuracy and integrity, in accordance with Epic Opportunities‘ mission and goals and the requirements of all funding supporters. Provide leadership and supervision to accounting staff and demonstrate this leadership consistently, creating a workplace culture in alignment with the Epic Opportunities’ vision, mission and values.

We will count on you to:
- In conjunction with the Director team, plan, monitor and protect financial and material resources to ensure viability of the organization.
- Provide leadership and supervision to accounting staff, including orientation, training, assigning work and managing job performance.
- Ensure monthly financial statements and reports are prepared in a timely way. Contribute to regular financial reports and prepare draft budgets for use by the rest of the management team.
- Provide working budget templates for management annually.
- As required, meet with and/or provide information and recommendations to the Director and Coordinator teams.
- Interact effectively with the Epic Opportunities team and the community-at-large, modelling organizational values in all relationships.

Qualifications and experience we are looking for:
- Professional accounting designation or in the late stages of the CPA program.
- Five years’ experience in accounting capacity with two years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and CRA requirements for non-profit sector.
- Experience in audit practices and preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Premier Non-Profit Edition, and other accounting related applications.
The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and both a Child and Adult Abuse Registry check upon hire at their own expense.
Salary: To be determined by education, experience and qualifications for position. Consideration will be given for CPA designation or demonstrated commitment working towards attainment of the designation.
