Epic in Bloom will provide gardeners with some added incentive to get their yards and balconies looking beautiful.

Epic in Bloom is a friendly gardening competition designed to encourage anyone living in a home or apartment owned or rented by Epic Opportunities to enhance their yard or balcony.
The winner for best balcony will receive $250 towards the purchase of an outdoor item to enhance their balcony. The winner for best front yard will receive $250 towards the purchase of an outdoor item. Contestants must stay within a $75 budget and are encouraged to be creative.
“This initiative is part of our goal to be better neighbours and contribute to a thriving community environment,” says Executive Director Ruby Reimer. “Not only do we hope to make our yards more beautiful we also want to engage in our local communities and neighbourhoods.
“We hope to inspire the people we serve to get active this summer. This may also be an excellent way to start a new relationship with someone in the neighbourhood. What better way to do this than to plant some flowers, pull some weeds and enjoy the sounds and sights of summer?”
Judging for the contest is scheduled to take place between July 6 and 31. Epic in Bloom contestants will be required to submit before and after pictures. A panel of expert gardening judges will visit the homes that make it to the final round of judging based on the before and after pictures.
