The Epic Opportunities Foundation Unveils Their Dare to Dream Campaign

The launch of the Dare to Dream campaign highlighted the introduction of the Inspirations Scholarship Fund along with an announcement of a $40,000 matching donation.

The Epic Opportunities Foundation recently launched the Dare to Dream campaign during a touching event at Taylor McCaffrey’s office. This initiative conveys a powerful message of inclusivity, emphasizing that dreams know no bounds and are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Its’ aim is to dismantle stereotypes and obstacles while raising funds to empower every individual in the pursuit of their highest aspirations.

“At the heart of it all, our aspiration is to empower every individual we serve, to chase and achieve their dreams, while having the means to make that a reality,” shares Ruby Reimer, the Executive Director of Epic Opportunities. “We were deeply moved that the business community rallied with us to launch this significant campaign, a poignant reminder that everyone has the right to dream.”

Support the Dare to Dream campaign

One of the kickoff event’s shining moments was the premiere of the ‘Dare to Dream’ video, a heartwarming collaboration with our friends at Tripwire Media. This video is a beautiful tapestry of dreams, woven together by individuals from all walks of life. Captured during an afternoon filled with joy, shared stories, and genuine connections, it truly embodies the spirit of our campaign. It’s a testament to the power of unity and a celebration of the diverse abilities that make our community so vibrant. Please, take a moment to watch the video here.

Another highlight of the event was the presence of our honored guest, Judy Wasylycia-Leis, who introduced the Epic Inspirations Scholarship Fund. This initiative aims to fulfill personal dreams by providing financial support for goals such as vacations or education. Established with a generous $15,000 donation in memory of Judy’s late husband, Ron Wasylycia-Leis, the fund

seeks to dismantle obstacles faced by individuals with disabilities. Ron significantly impacted

the lives of those we serve, serving on both the Epic Opportunities and Foundation Boards of Directors. He was an extraordinary advocate for his son, whom Epic Opportunities proudly supports, as well as for the wider disability community.

The last major announcement was a remarkable $40,000 matching donation from Garth Manness. This contribution will truly assist in welcoming individuals home and promoting independence, as illustrated by the heartfelt story of Garth and his daughter Lisa. After the passing of Garth’s wife and Lisa’s mother, they found support through Epic Opportunities. Garth and Lisa hope that this donation serves as an inspiration for the community to support this campaign and a lasting reminder that dreams and hope truly begin with having a place to call home.

This campaign supports three strategic funds to empower individuals by addressing their unique needs:

Epic Inspirations: A scholarship fund for individuals with disabilities to pursue goals despite obstacles like accessibility and finances.

Epic Endeavours: Enhances organizational quality by supporting initiatives such as mental health, digital accessibility, and the advancement of disability rights for an inclusive community.

Epic Homes: Aims to acquire and build homes, ensuring individuals have nurturing and secure environments where each person feels empowered as they age in place, without barriers, in the comfort of their forever home.
