Employee Spotlight – Trista McCallum

This week, we honor Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, and today, we shine a spotlight on Trista McCallum.

Trista has been part of our team for less than a year, yet, despite her brief time, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of how to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in leading fulfilling, self-directed lives, where their choices, decisions, and voices are respected. Trista is a composed and approachable professional, known for effortlessly building strong connections with clients and their families. Trista approaches challenges with empathy and communicates with respect. Her commitment to accountability makes her a valuable team member, worthy of recognition.

“Direct Support Professionals are important because we are able to help the people we support find resources and be part of community activities. I love being able to enrich someone’s life, by being able to help them with new opportunities. Every day looks different, every individuals needs are different, but at the end of the day, it feels so good knowing you can make a difference in someone’s life.”
