What is Talk It Up?

In September 2022, Talk It Up! was established by a group of self-advocates here at Epic Opportunities. Since its formation, the advocacy committee has gone on to not only create several educational videos highlighting the importance of knowing your rights but also offer monthly workshops hosted by industry experts for people with lived experience. Talk It Up! members are on their way to becoming leaders in their communities and share a passion for ensuring the choices & voices of adults living with an intellectual or developmental disability are honored.

Everyone Deserves Love – Valentine’s Day Campaign

Do you believe EVERYONE should get to celebrate Valentine’s Day? People with a disability often face stereotypes that make us feel left out of celebrations about love, intimacy, or friendship, like Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is all about connection, highlighting how important it is to be inclusive. After all, we all want to feel loved, seen, and included! Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or not, we should all have the choice to join in and celebrate with our partners, friends and family!
