Bridging the Gap
A Mental Health Care Initiative
In 2024, supported by the Winnipeg Foundation, we launched the “Bridging the Gap” initiative, which aims to improve access to mental health resources for individuals with disabilities. This program tackles stigma, fosters understanding, and addresses financial barriers while customizing therapeutic approaches to suit various communication styles and physical abilities. Our goals include offering flexible session formats, exploring diverse art therapies, and maintaining our “wellness room” as a safe space to receive therapy. We are dedicated to enhancing service accessibility through online options and thorough staff training. Additionally, we aim to raise awareness and collaborate with experts to eliminate barriers. We are committed to building a community where everyone feels supported and empowered to seek the help they need. Together, with the support of our partners and the community, we can make mental health care more accessible and equitable for all.
We invite partners and sponsors who value mental health support within the community and want to ensure the sustainability of this essential initiative.

Person-Centered Excellence
Inclusive Community Services guided by Dignity, Quality of Life, Empowerment & Inclusion
Epic Opportunities is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of service for those we support. Our commitment to Person-Centered Excellence ensures everyone, regardless of background or abilities, can access resources and opportunities to engage in community life. These services empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through support tailored to their unique needs and goals. Developed collaboratively, they facilitate active community participation.
To evaluate our service quality and facilitate ongoing improvement, we are actively pursuing accreditation through the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL). This is a crucial milestone in our commitment to fostering a more inclusive community that embraces diversity and invites everyone to participate as full and contributing citizens.
While our Inclusive Community Services encompass many facets, we want to emphasize the significance of our accreditation. It serves not just as a stamp of approval; it holds us accountable to the public regarding the integrity of our work. Moreover, it is a transformative process that enables us to elevate our services, adopt best practices, and empower those we serve to make their own choices and exercise their rights.
We are excited to share our vision with our lead sponsor, Medigroup, who is dedicated to creating inclusive communities and advancing Personal Outcome Measures® training and accreditation development. This investment will equip our staff to assist individuals in achieving their aspirations, fostering a cultural shift that strengthens our organization and ensures a lasting impact.
