What you can expect?

As our Digital Accessibility Systems Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Epic Opportunities connects with the community online. This role goes beyond routine updates; it’s about creating welcoming, accessible, and engaging digital spaces that reflect who we are and what we stand for.

We will count on you to:

  • Build vibrant connections with stakeholders and community partners
  • Spark authentic and meaningful business partnerships
  • Strengthen Epic Opportunities’ social media presence and digital reach
  • Champion accessibility by ensuring digital platforms meet Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) standards
  • Support the development of clear, user-friendly manuals for our website and service database, helping our team and stakeholders confidently navigate and use our resources

 The successful applicant for this position must meet the following Canada Summer Jobs Grant requirements:

  • Must be between 15 – 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person whom refugee protection has been confirmed under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act at the duration of employment; and
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • International students are not eligible

Qualifications and experience we are looking for:

  • Area of studies which will be an asset; Web Design & Development, Digital Media Design, Graphic Design, Communications
  • Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, values and policies of Epic Opportunities
  • Knowledge of website accessibility and the Accessibility Standards (AMA) an asset
  • Ability to manage several projects at a time, be organized and carry out priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently or in a team setting

The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and both a Child and Adult Abuse Registry check upon hire at their own expense.

Further Position Details:

  • This position is 35 hours a week
  • Wage: $18.00 hourly
  • Duration: 8 weeks, dependent on start date, with the project ending by August 29, 2029
  • A current Manitoba Driver’s License and use of a personal vehicle is an asset
